I've updated Linda's page, and added my own. Why my own? So that this can be the news page, and those of you that don't want to hear me ruminate on mundane, day-to-day nonsense don't need to suffer through it. So now you can get real "news" about us here, read random silliness posted by both Joe and myself, and get wedding and Linda updates all on different pages. What that really means is more surfing for you to do from the office!  We do what we can, and are glad to help.

Also, I will be redesigning the site soon to accomodate the changes; in between all the other stuff, of course.

We had a great weekend. It was busy and relaxing at the same time. My birthday was Saturday... I'm 25 years old! Again! Hard to believe, huh? It seems like so much more time has passed... I slept in Saturday morning.  I finally dragged my tired old butt out of bed, and wandered into the kitchen.  What to my wondering eyes did appear but... Joe in the kitchen, cooking me my favorite breakfast, Puffy Pancake, aka German Pancake (mom stood by with a fire extinguisher). Joe took me to get coffee, then we returned and sucked down breakfast!  Ummm!

I now own my own gumball machine!
Thank you Joe!

I've wanted one of these forever! Thanks Mom!

After I greedily opened all my gifts, Joe and I went to Home Depot and got wood to make BENCHES (benches won!) We worked on that in the backyard for a while. Actually, Joe worked on it. I sat on a BENCH reading a book, muttering words of encouragement at proper intervals.

We're going to get rich with a new line of pinup posters.

Joe thinks about his plan of attack.

We also received our first wedding present in the mail this weekend. We hadn't even unpacked the box when Joe started singing. "I know what it is! Its a robot!" And so it was. How do boys know these things?  Justin and Stephanie sent us the vaccuuming rotating wall bumping dog chasing ROBOT! Joe has wanted this soooo bad! It was so much fun to see him doing the pee dance, yelling, "We'll call it Rozy, after The Jetsons!"

Thank you Justin and Stephanie!

Sunday mom and I went to the mall. We failed to accomplish any of the items on our list, but did get other very important things done like getting earrings to match my dress (a gift from her), picking up more decorations and eating chocolate covered fruit at Harry and David!  So good!

On another note, mom started her treatments Monday (finally). We've spent the last two days at the medical center.  I know its still early, but SO FAR SO GOOD!

We added a blog to our site (thanks Daymented for walking me through it, oh, and for paying for it!!)! I am so excited about this! For those of you that haven't blogged before, its basically real time comments. You go in, put your name or fake name, email address if you want, web address if you have one, and put up NONSENSE! It gets posted within seconds. Try it out! Its fun!  Click on the link at the bottom of this entry!

In the meantime, I'm going to go shove a rag in Joe's mouth. He gets really into whatever he's doing on the computer and starts making wierd noises, most of the time without realizing it. "I wonder sometimes how long I've been making these stupid noises." Uh, long time.  Right now, its (to a tune reminiscent of Adam Sandler) "cookieca, cookieca, I am the Cookie Man, cooooookie, coookie cacaaaaaa". Cooki-yak-whafvisraginmymouf?!

Photo of the day! Tric is a sucker for tennis balls, so a few weeks ago, Joe brought home a bag full o' tennis balls. He throws them around for her in the backyard. Sometimes she'll bring a ball to us as we're doing... whatever... and toss it at us. In fact she's doing it right now. Flash forward three weeks. The bag is nearly empty and we have a half dozen violently killed tennis balls scattered throughout the yard and house.

Now be a good girl (or boy) and write your comments (clap clap clap)!

We're finally settling in. Things are still crazy but we're getting unpacked.

Something he ate?

Nope, looks alright.

We lucked out with the house in that it has a HUGE yard. It also has an armada of birds.  I think all the neighborhood birds live in our two mimosa trees. It may have something to do with the bird feeder we have hanging there. Big birds, little birds, hungry birds.  They can clean it out in 48 hours flat.

Our experiment, after 36 hours

Cool mother-in-law's cottage in the back.

My mom is staying here right now. We were fortunate that UC Davis is nearby, so she can receive treatments there while staying with family. She has been a great help with the wedding, and is pretty handy in the kitchen (as Joe likes to say). We are still digesting the crab pasta salad she whipped up tonight. We have a page for her where people can check in for updates.

Joe figured out Linda's soft spot is flowers.

Joe finished building his new super uber computer about a month ago. He spends much of his time saving the world under a number of monikers including "Hot Hands Hank".  We should all be grateful. Joe also spent a weekend recently building me a bench so that I can lay in the yard without fear of bugs climbing all over me. We found numerous unauthorized tenants upon moving in, including a black widow. FUMIGATOR! OVER HERE PLEASE! The bench turned out so well we're considering making a bunch of them for the wedding instead of renting chairs. Joe is really excited about the idea of undertaking the project. He has designed a page for "random silliness".  It includes a survey on whether guests should sit in those white plastic chairs or on benches crafted by his own skilled hands.  Please do your part and get out the vote!

"I can fly!"

Tric wants to fly too!

The smell of fresh cut wood ...

YUM!

I had only been here about a week before my cravings for seafood got the better of me and I ordered a ton of smoked salmon from Taku Smokeries in Juneau. Last night, we had smoked salmon fettucini alfredo. Ahhhh, savor the flavor.

I had also only been here about a week before I wrecked Joe's truck. Oops. Got t-boned in the intersection by a really sweet guy who was looking for a coffee shop instead of for the traffic light.  After a month and about $5500 worth of repairs, Joe finally got his baby back. The next day I watched as a lady at the mall backed her minivan into the new fender. Crunch. I bought the first guy coffee while we waited for the tow trucks. She didn't get any coffee. Poor lady. But it looks alright. No real harm done.

"We can make him better than he was before"

I finally found a vehicle I liked, after endless hours at car lots and test driving private vehicles that made strange noises. Its a 95 Rodeo!  It has pretty decent miles on it, and an AC that makes me feel like I'm back home; the two main criteria in my search.

Tric LOVES this rig!

Well folks, I think that's all for this installment of Banana Gravy. Tune in again soon!
