I'm sitting here watching one of my favorite movies via my peripheral vision: Silence of the Lambs. "It puts the lotion on its skin or else it gets the hose again. Bwaaaa!" After all this time, it still gives me the heebee jeebees. What's on my news list? Lets see...

Sydney had her four month check up two weeks ago. The doctor said she looks perfect, and "petite". Thats actually a word almost everyone uses to describe her. She was 11 pounds 14 ounces, which puts her at the 10th percentile for weight for babies her age. Yes Linda C, that freaked me out a little. No worries though, the doctor said she thinks its just because Syd is sooooo active for her age. She said she thinks she'll be walking by 9 months. Syd was also 24 inches, which is pretty normal.

She is proficient at rolling over.

Syd isn't fond of the bottle.

Syd gets her first taste of cereal.

Feeding her is fun for the whole family!

Tric watches over Sydney.

She loves putting things in her
mouth.

Hard day at the office.

I'm still on the "no dairy" diet. Joe and I have been eating fast food like there is no tomorrow. I think its because of the limited menu options at home. I don't feel like cooking it, he doesn't feel like eating it. We tried to share a pizza, but it didn't turn out so well. No cheese pizza just isn't pizza.

No dairy pizza. No do-ey again.

Janice and Dad came to visit right before Halloween. They were on their way south. They're spending the next few winter months in Mexico. Poor guys. They brought their dogs Taz and Charlie with them, and took Syd and I to our first dog show in Dixon. People do some wierd things in the name of pedigrees - have you ever seen one of those larger poodles all shaved for show? There's just something wrong with that.

Syd plays bongo on Ken's head.

Janice plays with Sydney.

Dad and Janice have decided to use Charlie as a stud dog, so they've asked me to help them pimp him out - actually in his circles, its probably more like an escort service. I'll be building a website (nirvanakennels.com) for the little gigalo when I get a chance.

We had to take my car into the shop again this past week - it was leaking antifreeze, and had overheated a little bit ago. According to Roseville Radiators (The best place in town to take a leak) it needs the radiator replaced. Since Joe and I have been looking at getting a more reliable car, we're trying to ignore it for now. We spent a recent weekend car shopping for new cars and decided we really liked the new Subaru B9 Tribeca (soooo roomy) and the Honda Accord Hybrid (45 miles to the gallon. 45.). Then we woke up and agreed to look for something we could actually afford - like a newer used car.

Fall is officially here, and it is gorgeous! I raked the leaves the night before last - raked both ours and the our neighbor's yards. I had one of those "jump in it" piles of leaves when I was finished. This is what the yard looked like the next morning:

Hmph.

I spied this little critter while over at the neighbor's. Its a preying mantis. He just sat there watching me while I took pictures. It was pretty cool.

Cute little guy. Think that is his tongue?

Its been colder lately, so I've been able to dig my sweaters out of the closet. I finally got to wear my birthday present from Sharon. She made it, and I love it. Sharon is coming for Thanksgiving. She has yet to meet Syd, so I'm very excited.

One of the things I like about living here is the way you can see the clouds coming from miles away. This is a photo from my office late last month. This photo doesn't do it justice, but the front was really incredible.

A storm a comin'.
